The aim of this site is to help everyone who is involved in the child protection system, in whatever capacity by: providing up to date information about relevant law and practice, and; contributing to the wider debate about the child protection system. The ethos of this site is summed up by the words of Lord Laming‘Please keep me safe’. This simple but profoundly important hope is the very minimum upon which every child and young person should be able to depend… The years of childhood pass all too quickly and become the foundation upon which the rest of life depends… In general, families are best placed to care for children and promote their welfare.
